Allergen Policy

Due to the nature of zero waste shopping, it is inevitable that nearly all allergens are present within the shop. This be in the product itself or traces due to the manufacturing process. We do everything that we can to keep allergens separate within the shop and in storage, however due to the fact containers are opened regularly within the shop, there is a chance of traces of allergens being present within the general shop environment.

We have different scoops for all the allergens and scoops are sterilised after each use. Despite this if you have a serious or life threatening allergy, it is not advised that you use this type of shop.

All of our staff have allergy training, and we adhere to strict cross contamination policies within the cafe and kitchen, but it is unavoidable that there will be allergens present within our shop area. f all

All our product dispensers/jars are filled in our shop in a hygienic environment, designated containers are used for a particular item, and even though the containers are washed and sterilised between batches, they are still only used for their designated items.

If you bring your own containers to fill – please ensure they are clean, dry and fit for purpose, please be aware that we cannot take responsibility after the product has left our dispensers. Containers must be completely dry before refilling as a damp environment can promote the growth of bacteria and can reduce the quality and shelf-life of a product.

Unfortunately, products that enter a customer’s container cannot be put back into our dispensers due to the risk of cross-contamination. As a small business we therefore kindly request that you purchase anything you dispense. If you are unsure how how to use dispensers or liquid please ask a staff member, who will more than happy to help. As a small business it is very difficult for use a absorb the cost of wasted/spilled products.

Allergens are clearly displayed on our dispensers and BBE dates are displayed on the sides of dispensers.
